General information.

Water heating boiler KVGM-180 st. No. 5, subject to modernization, is located in the extension of the building. The dimensions of the extension in axes are 48,0 x 75,5 m. The extension is a one-story, three-bay frame building with load-bearing transverse frames. The pitch of the transverse frames is 6,0 m. In axes “A – B1” the transverse frames consist of steel columns and covering beams. In the “B1 - D” and “D - Z” axes, the transverse frames are formed by steel columns and steel trusses. The extension consists of three compartments: in axes “A – B1” - pipeline compartment, span 9,0 m, bottom elevation of the roof beam +29,900; in axes “B1 - D” - boiler room, span 21,0 m, truss bottom elevation +33,000; in axes “D - F” - smoke exhaust compartment, span 18,0 m, truss bottom elevation +18,000. Covering the boiler room is prefabricated reinforced concrete slabs over beams and covering trusses. The external walls of the building are prefabricated reinforced concrete panels. The project for modernizing the boiler house without changing technological processes provides for the technical re-equipment of the KV-GM-180-150-2 boiler, station No. 5, to restore the boiler’s passport characteristics. In accordance with the requirements of the Technical Specifications, the project provides for: replacement of the KVGM-180-150 boiler with similar equipment, replacement of the boiler frame, cold funnel, repair of the boiler foundations, replacement of pipelines and fittings (incl. with electric drives) within the design boundaries; installation of safety valves on the boiler, including installation of a specially designated container for discharging water from them; organizing the possibility of performing chemical quality control of network water at the inlet and outlet of the boiler with the replacement of two single-point sample coolers, with the supply of source water for cooling and the removal of wastewater through a drainage trough connected to the general boiler drainage; replacement of pipeline fittings connecting to the conservation and maintenance system of hot water boilers; painting equipment (boiler, valves, pipelines) with heat-resistant, heat-insulating paints; calculation of the gas-air path, replacement of boiler burners, incl. with the connection of newly installed air ducts to the existing air ducts of the boiler room, replacement of gas pipelines of the boiler with replacement of gas equipment, including: installation of a wafer rotary plug; installation of a quick-acting shut-off valve (QSV); installation of a gas metering unit on the boiler; replacement of PRZ; installation of two sequentially located slam-shut valves in front of the boiler burners; installation of a control device (RDD) in front of each burner. Replacement of fuel oil pipelines within the boiler and fuel oil-using equipment, nozzles; replacement of the boiler automation system; replacement of the cleaning system for heating surfaces and the convective part of the boiler. Drainage from the boiler and emptying of pipelines during the repair period (after the water has cooled to 40°C) is carried out into the existing drainage system of the boiler room. The boiler modernization is provided for in an existing building without changing its dimensions or the purpose of the existing premises. Boiler heating surfaces (ceiling, side screens and convection packages) are manufactured according to factory drawings and based on the agreed upon order specification. The selection of new equipment was carried out in accordance with the Design Assignment and Technical Requirements for modernization projects, technical re-equipment, reconstruction and new construction of facilities. The design boundaries are indicated on the Boiler House Thermal Diagram in Section 5.
