General information.

The building of the Palace of Culture was built in 1957 according to a standard project developed in the architectural and design workshop of the All-Russian Central Council of Trade Unions of the RSFSR by architect K.K. Bartoshevich. This project was repeatedly applied in the cities of the USSR (a total of 135 buildings), recognized as a monument of urban planning and architecture of regional significance and protected by the state, reconstruction was carried out in many cities with the preservation of planning decisions and plaster decor with Soviet symbols. The original project of K.K. Bartoshevich, a fountain was provided in the court-doner in front of the central entrance, but since the buildings under construction fell under the campaign against architectural excesses during the time of N.S. Khrushchev, not only the fountain, but also the portico with columns were abolished in those cities where were not completed.

Architectural solutions.

The building of the Palace of Culture - 1-3 floors and a basement, of three volumes in terms of: 2-3-story U-shaped with a portico, 2-story rectangular and 1-story extension, the total dimensions of the building in the plan - 82.6x43.9 . Under the 3-storey part of the building there is a strip foundation made of rubble stone, under the 2-storey part - a block foundation. The blind area is asphalt concrete. A building with an incomplete frame. The bearing walls are made of bricks 650 mm thick and reinforced concrete columns with a diameter of 1500 mm. The basement walls in axes 6-10 / A-Ts are made of bricks to the bottom of the floor beams. Further along the walls, a monolithic reinforced concrete belt with a height of 650-700mm is made, linked to beams and a floor slab. Walls above el. 0.000 are made of solid ceramic, silicate bricks and cinder blocks. The location of bricks and cinder blocks in the walls is chaotic. Walls, plinth, columns are plastered. The basement ceiling in the axes 6-10 / A-Ts is a monolithic reinforced concrete beam. Ceiling of the first floor and the second floor in axes 6-10/E-C - prefabricated reinforced concrete slabs laid on prefabricated reinforced concrete beams. The ceilings of the second floor and the third floor in the axes 6-10 / E-C with a span of less than 4,8 m are made on wooden beams supported on the walls, with a span of more than 5 m - the floor beams are additionally fixed to the roof trusses and wooden truss structures using strands of steel bars of various sections. The load-bearing structures of the roof are made of wooden roof beams and metal trusses. The roof is double pitched. The coating is made of galvanized metal sheet on a wooden crate. Window fillings are wooden double window units with separate sashes, and door fillings are wooden solid external doors. Partitions - frame-backfill and brick. Internal stairs - prefabricated marches of stone steps. Floors: in the basement rooms - concrete on the ground; floors of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors - marble slabs in the area of ​​open stairs, lobby; plank floors and parquet in the foyer, halls and club rooms.
